Telephone Calls

International Calls

One way is to book a call through the Embassy switchboard during the work day by filling out a call ticket at the Embassy Reception office.  The call will be placed by the switchboard operator at the time of your choosing. You are always welcome to have the call put through to your office extension number.  Charges will be billed to you by the FM Office, and the payment is made to the Embassy cashier.  You can also book international calls from most of the major hotels. If you are making an international call from a cell phone, you have to dial the country code and then the number required. The Embassy switchboard (dial 0) is available to assist you with any problems you have regarding telephone calls.

Local Calls

When making local calls from a cell phone from city to city, you need to use the special area code before each number e.g. 774700 is the Embassy telephone number, you should add the new Khartoum code  0183, then dial 774600. The area code for Omdurman numbers is 0187 and for North Khartoum Numbers 0185.

If you are calling from a hand set, the area codes are, Khartoum 83, North Khartoum 85 and Omdurman 87.  the Embassy switchboard can assist you with any problems
