List of Physicians

Upon your arrival in Sudan, one of the most important things you must do is make sure you know what to do and where to go in a Medical Emergency!

Khartoum has limited medical resources and the health care delivery system is different from that in the U.S.

Physicians are seldom in their private clinics in the morning. Office hours are usually in the evenings from 7:30 p.m. till around 11:00 p.m. Local Physicians and clinics usually expect payment before the visit.

Hospitals in Khartoum

You can walk in to any of the private hospitals listed below and receive assistance but you will be expected to pay a deposit on arrival. Some hospitals e.g. Fedail Medical Center only admit referrals from their pre-registered “admitting Physicians”.

Take the time to register with a Physician or Hospital in your area for emergency care for you and your family. If you live in North Khartoum or Omdurman you need to familiarize with the area you live in and find the nearest hospital/clinic. Ask friends or neighbors what hospital/Physician they use or recommend.

The following list of hospitals, physicians, and dentists is for your convenience and does not constitute either an endorsement of recommendation by the US Embassy.
