While Nile State Trip Delivers Sweet Results
U.S. embassy political officer Amina El-Bishlawy and economic officer Eric Barbee visited the cities of Rabak and Kosti in White Nile State on December 3-4, 2007 to review the latest economic and political developments. They toured one of the largest integrated sugar factories in the world, the Kenana Sugar Company (KSC), met with the governor of White Nile State, Dr. Mohamed Nurallah El-Tigani, and visited the new port facility in Kosti. Books and material on American geography, government, and culture (provided by the embassy's Public Affairs Section) were presented to officials to be donated to local libraries. The two officers also met with students at the Sheikh Yacoud Quranic School near Jebel Aulea on their return trip to Khartoum.
