Preserving a piece of Darfur’s history
In a ceremony on November 14, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Alberto Fernandez, presented to Mamoun Mohammed Musa, Director of the Sultan Ali Dinar museum in El Fasher, the first installment check of the cultural preservation project of the museum on behalf of the U.S. Government. The ceremony was held in the museum’s main courtyard and was attended by Mohammed Hamed Ibrahim, Director General of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport; Jonathan Pratt, U.S. Embassy Khartoum Political /Economic Counselor; and Emily Bruno, U.S Embassy El Fasher Field Officer, in addition to museum staff members. Mohammed Hamid expressed his appreciation to the U.S Government for its great initiative in helping Darfurians preserve their heritage through this project and mentioned that such initiatives will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
